Week 7 Continue on research

As I embark on my project to improve the museum experience, I believe that researching Augmented Reality (AR) in exhibits could be highly beneficial.

I was curious about how AR could enhance the museum experience, since I noticed that most of the exhibits lacked AR content and interactive features. I decided to explore some software tools that could help me create AR elements.

One of them was Adobe Aero, which I found easy to use because it had a similar interface to Blender. I wanted to experiment with my own illustrations as the basis for my AR testing, since they reflected my personal style and vision.

Adobe Aero

My friends and I experimented with AR and I was impressed by the variety of concepts we could explore. However, we encountered a problem with the camera recognition of the image on paper.

The color was too dark and similar to the background, so the camera could not detect it properly. This issue did not occur when we scanned the image on a digital screen, where the colors were more accurate.

I wanted to experiment with the "constraints on print" concept, so I chose another illustration that had more variation in color and added some animation to it.

The result was quite satisfying, as the camera could detect the tiger image with ease and from a greater distance too!

AR in other ventures

As I embark on my project to improve the museum experience, I believe that researching Augmented Reality (AR) in other ventures such as advertisements could be highly beneficial. By studying these techniques, I can learn how to better engage museum visitors and foster a sense of interaction among them.

As someone who is passionate about history and culture, I understand that marketing strategies are often seen as inappropriate or irrelevant in the museum context.

However, I was very impressed by the visuals that the internet presented and I felt curious about the possibility of applying them to the project. I don't want to compromise the integrity or the authenticity of local museum, but I wonder if there is a way to experiment with some of the marketing techniques with the visuals.
